As a photographer in Colorado Springs, I am dedicated to creating experiences worth remembering. During each photography session, it is my mission to ensure that real and genuine memories are captured. Some of the most important memories that I have been able to capture are those between family. Whether it be an intimate photoshoot with parents and their newborn, or a boisterous photo session with a large extended family, I believe that those moments are worth holding onto. Over my years of experience being a family photographer, I have gladly answered a variety of questions about what hiring me as your photographer will look like. I have compiled some of my most asked questions and answered them here so that you can see if I will make a good fit as your family photographer.

Session Info

When is the best time to book a family session?

The time of year to book your family’s photography session is completely up to you and what your vision is. If you want beautiful fall leaves as the backdrop to your family’s photo, then booking in the fall will be best. Or, if you would rather take pictures outside during a warm sunny day, I suggest during the summer months. My schedule can fill quickly though, which is why I recommend booking your photography session three months in advance.

How long will the photography session be?

We will spend about 45 minutes to an hour capturing your family's treasured moments.

How much does a family photography session cost?

My average client spends around $1800-$3000 per session.

Can we bring along our family pet to our photography session?

Of course! Our furry family members are just as much a part of the family as anyone else. My ultimate goal is to capture meaningful memories of your entire family, and so many of those memories include our pets. At Mandy Penn Photography, your pets are always welcome to take part in your family photography sessions! Please let me know if your pets require special accommodations.

What should my family wear to our photography session?

When it comes to choosing your outfit for your family photography session, I recommend that all family members wear something that makes them feel comfortable and confident. During our consultation, I will be more than happy to offer guidance on picking out a color scheme that will fit well with the location and the overall vision you have.

How many pictures will we receive per session?

You will receive a digital copy of each picture taken. I also offer print packages that will allow you to receive high-quality prints of the pictures from your session.

What areas do you serve?

I provide professional photography services to Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas, including Fountain, Falcon, Monument and Black Forest.

Where will the photography session be held?

I hold family photography sessions throughout the Colorado Springs area. I adore photographing families in natural light outdoors, and have a variety of beautiful location options I recommend for a gorgeous backdrop to your session. Or, if you have a specific location in mind, I would be more than happy to take your family pictures at your desired location.
