I was originally supposed to photograph a birth session for child number eight, baby Cora! However, when Cora decided to come early we changed the newborn session to a large family lifestyle session, right there in their home! It ended up being so much fun!

Meet the Martinek family. Eight kids all together and they are so well behaved. Mary and Al have the most beautiful family! I love all the names of the kids and thought they all fit them perfectly. Gavin (15),  Bailey and Audrey are 2 weeks apart and are both 13, followed by Logan (9), Ada (6), Finn (4), Jonah (2), and last but not least, Cora (who is 2 months new). I loved having the chance to get to know each of them in this large family lifestyle session!

This family was so amazing, and the kiddos were so patient and followed directions really well! We got plenty of pictures, probably since I told them they could sit wherever they wanted;) I obviously gave them direction but I find it much easier when you can give them freedom and allow them to sit where they feel most comfortable. We ended up doing the session at their house because it’s so much easier to get more of the raw emotion out of kids when they are at a place they are familiar with, especially the little ones. The house was super bright and made for beautiful lighting. We started downstairs and got some cute pictures but I could not stop shooting when we went upstairs. That bedroom was an amazing backdrop!
